Why is international news media showing only the dark side of India?

I bet most of you have no idea what are international news channels like BBC World News, Sky News, Fox News, CNN etc are broadcasting about India. Well let me tell you what they are broadcasting, in short, they are trying to suppress everything India has been achieving from the past few decades while they are busy showing how poor this country is, even though this country is the fastest growing economy in the world the people of Western World always get the picture of a poor country in their mind whenever they think of India, To be honest, it's not the fault of western people but it's indeed what the media had fed them ever since India got independence .Because of what Western Media has been feeding the people they only know about the poverty of India, but not the scientific discoveries we've made.

SOME POPULAR GLOBAL NEWS NETWORKS

Before knowing why international media houses are only showing the dark side of India let us first gather some information about some international media houses 

1. BBC World News :

It is the largest news broadcaster in the world, which was launched in the year 1991. BBC here stands for British Broadcast Corporation, the name itself makes it clear that this media house belongs to the United Kingdom.

2. Sky News :

Even though it is not as famous as BBC news it still has good numbers in its pocket when it comes to viewership. This channel was launched in the year 1989 and the Sky News is again owned by a company in the United Kingdom

3. FOX News :

It is a United States based world news channel which was launched in the year 1996. Even though it has been criticized for its biased political views it still has the highest global viewership. Even though it is of American origin its sister network is Sky News which is owned by a United Kingdom based company.

4. CNN News :

CNN stands for Cable News Network and it is the United States based global news network which was launched in the year 1980. It is better known for being the world's first channel to provide 24-hour news coverage.

We now know that most of the famous global news channels are either owned by US-based companies or UK based companies.

Now let us glance through some information about the history of India( This is important to know about the main topic)

We all know that due to the second world war the East India Company had no money or enough power to rule India anymore and revolt against the British by Indians was at its peak the East India Company had no other option except to leave India
Before the British left India they made sure that enough wealth was looted from this country (don't forget the fact that India was one of the richest countries before the invaders started invading the country )
Finally, India was declared independent in the year 1947.

As we have already discussed above, channels like BBC World News and Sky News are dominating the global news media , it is important to note that both of these media houses are owned by UK based companies, unlike Indian news channels which have complete freedom over what they broadcast (unbelievable but true as the media houses often misuse their freedom) the UK based news channels are controlled by their government (indirectly)

Well, when the government itself has control over what they want to show the world there are two things that they can do which are advantageous for their smooth ruling,

1)Show only the brighter side of their own country: Which makes sure that people think that they are getting a good governance and everything is okay in their country (This is what both UK based and US-based global news channels are doing )

2) Show the dark side of developing countries like India: Which makes sure that people won't revolt against the corrupt government that they are having (Exactly what UK based global news channels do as India is a fast growing country and the UK government don't want India getting the spotlight )

The global news channels are following the above two methods to make sure that their own country won't be dragged out from the spotlight that they are getting now

Another reason why especially UK based news channels are degrading India is just to send a false signal to this world that India hasn't been able to stand on its own since the independence which again lionizes the British who ruled our country before Independence, as it would appear that India was developing at their time when they had power and now India can't stand on its own. It's just like a thief stealing in someone's house and then publically criticizing the house owners for their poorness

The UK based news channels don't want their citizens to know how much they've looted from other countries they just want to show that they are under good governance and they are in heaven.


Now coming to the people of India ,some educated fools in India who watch these news channels believe in their stories,documentaries etc and they start degrading India without knowing either it's ancient history or the modern history, without even getting their facts right they tend to believe everything they see on the global news networks which only shows the dark side without showing the bright side (which is brighter than other countries )
